Liposuction prices vary based on several factors. While the skill of the doctor is the most important thing to consider when looking into liposuction, there is another important factor: the cost.  The type of procedure, the body area to be treated, the size of that area, the skill of the service provider, the health of the patient…all of these are taken into consideration when determining liposuction prices.

Non surgical liposuction is a relatively new set of procedures that use advanced technology to remove or reduce fat. As a result, a patient can expect to pay more for this type of procedure than she would for a traditional treatment. But new liposuction has benefits that can far outweigh the burden of price. Quicker treatment, less discomfort during the treatment, fewer side effects—all of this can be used to balance a higher cost.

Once it has been determined what type of liposuction the patient will have, the doctor’s experience and skills are taken into consideration. The total price will almost certainly be higher once those additional fees for nursing staff, operating room, anesthesia (if necessary), and supplies are added to the surgeon’s fee. Only after all of this is taken into account should an amount be quoted to the patient.

At that time, the patient should also take into account the length of her recovery time and how long she may be gone from work. With new liposuction treatments, the downtime should be minimal, but she should plan on taking it easy for a week or two. Unless she has paid sick time available, that loss of time from work could mean loss of pay. That adds to the bottom line of the cost of the procedure.

Cheap liposuction quotes may sound too good to be true. They usually are. More realistic liposuction prices indicate that the medical provider is reliable, experienced, and honest.
