Liposuction Is The Quickest Way to Lose Weight

Quickest way to lose weight – It can be looked at from two different perspectives.  While going on a two-day fast, paired with a daily jogging regimen, or cutting oneself down to a 1200-calorie per day meal plan may seem like the quickest ways to lose weight, there’s another option: liposuction surgery. This procedure, which is the most common cosmetic surgery performed in the United States, quickly removes weight from the body.

Traditional liposuction surgery is performed by inserting a hollow steel rod into a specific area of the body—such as the inner thigh or abdomen—and using that rod to vacuum out the fat. In the hands of an experienced plastic surgeon, the procedure can result in almost instantaneous results. After all, decreasing mass also decreases weight. There may, however, be side effects such as swelling and bruising that could make it appear as if the procedure wasn’t as successful as desired. These side effects generally pass with time and most patients are more than happy with the ultimate results.

But there are newer versions of liposuction that can result in quick weight loss without causing nearly as many side effects. New liposuction can use ultrasound or sound waves to eliminate fat safely and efficiently.

Perhaps the option that offers the quickest way to lose weight is laser liposuction. In this procedure, a surgical laser is used to break up fat cells. There is no surgery required—no cutting involved—and it is a fairly quick process through which to go. The drawback to this option is that it usually takes more than one session to accomplish a patient’s goals. Most treatments are completed in about six months, with results being obvious within six weeks. Less bruising, swelling and discomfort may outweigh that longer time period.

Of course, as with any surgery, liposuction comes with risks no matter how simple or common it may be. It should not be used in place of diet or exercise. Those should always be the first options for someone who is interested in losing weight. It should also not be undertaken by those who are excessively overweight. The best patient for it is one who is within their normal weight range but simply has a few pockets of excess fat that they want to remove from specific areas of their bodies.

Still, liposuction surgery may prove to be the quickest way to lose weight for those who qualify for it. To find out if they do qualify, potential patients should consult with their physician or plastic surgeon.
